Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
KIPP Texas Public Schools Student Support Services (S3) exists to prevent, respond to, and minimize the barriers to learning that KIPP students may experience. Since health and wellness and educational goals are interdependent, this position furthers the mission of KIPP Texas as it helps ensure that all students have access to care that meets their diverse emotional and behavioral needs. The KIPP Texas Manager of (SWPL) is an integral part of the KTX S3 team and will further the mission of KIPP by promoting emotional resilience to the KIPP Team and Family through professional learning and leader consultation. In addition, the Manager of SWPL will play an integral role in developing and creating learning opportunities for the School-Based Mental Health Team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY
KTX TEACHER SUPPORT:
Serve as the key strategic thought partner to the Senior Director of School Based Mental Health regarding teacher facing issues related to wellness and teacher resilience
Provide vision and strategic direction for the organization’s staff wellness and development, wellness initiatives, aligned with the long term strategy to improve student achievement and narrow the achievement gap between racial, ethnic and economic group
Build an awareness for social emotional learning and emotional resilience for KTX teachers and leaders.
Create scope and sequence to teacher facing professional development surrounding staff wellness and emotional resilience.
Develop and manage external partnerships connected to social emotional learning programming for KTX teachers and leaders.
Provide resources and supports to KTX leaders during school based crisis response.
Serve as a member of the KTX Student Support Services team and collaborate with other teams to ensure support to teachers and the effective delivery of instructional programs and services to all implementation schools for social emotional learning programming
Oversee the allocation of materials and staff resources.
SBMH TEAM MEMBER SUPPORT
Oversee the scope and sequence of professional development for all KTX School Based Mental Health Team through CEUs
Other duties as assigned by Sr. Director of Student Wellness and/or the MD of Student Wellness .
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree from accredited college or university in social work, counseling, or related field.
Possess a valid Texas professional license in at least one of the following in the State of Texas.
Licensed Master Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMSW)
Licensed Clinical Licensed Mental Health Professional (LCSW)
Licensed Master Licensed Mental Health Professional-Advanced Practitioner (LMSW-AP)
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-I)
3 years’ experience minimum providing services to children and/or adolescents in education K-12.
Preferred experience in implementing a social emotional curriculum.

Cultivates the trust of key stakeholders by active listening and seeking to understand their views and needs; follows through on commitments and promises with an appropriate sense of urgency
Oversees the selection, refinement, and implementation of aligned SEL assessments to measure and improve teaching and learning
Oversees the development of rigorous and aligned professional development for SBMH Team members, including the integration of culturally relevant materials and pedagogical practices
Organizes and analyzes data to inform decision-making, program modification and planning for targeted interventions
Analyzes current research and evidence from programs with excellent results to inform proposals for new initiatives
