    Job Description

    THE OPPORTUNITY

    KIPP Forward is seeking a part-time intern to join the CARES (Career and Alumni Re-Engagement) Team. The intern will be responsible for developing, coordinating and supporting special programs and projects, including KIPP internships, alumni re-engagement/ re-enrollment initiatives and career-focused events and partnerships.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and execute marketing and outreach strategies to broaden awareness of program, advance program brand identity and increase application pool
    • Support the application, admissions, hiring and matching process, including planning and hosting information sessions for prospective applicants and organizing applicant and new hire documents
    • Oversee daily program operations, i.e. monitoring program expenditures, co-planning events and workshops and other administrative tasks as needed
    • Create on-boarding and training curriculum and materials for newly-hired summer interns
    • Strategize, shift and implement new or improved programming elements that enhance the overall internship experience for all involved parties, including interns, internship partners, mentors, coaches and and KIPP staff
    • Analyze and evaluate program outcomes and adjust as needed
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • College or graduate students with a serious interest in a future career in program development and project management (particularly in education or non-profit work) strongly preferred
    • Past experience working with high-school or college-aged students preferred
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
    • KIPP alumni strongly preferred

    SKILLS

    • Ability and interest in creative problem-solving, strategizing and innovative thinking
    • Outstanding project management and organizational skills, with an ability to work on multiple complex tasks both independently and collaboratively 
    • Operates with a strong sense of urgency, initiative and curiosity, resulting in measurable program success and growth
    • Previous background working with high school or college students, with demonstrated knowledge of and respect for the cultures of the community served preferred
    • High proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Drive, and has previous experience utilizing a database, i.e. Salesforce
    • Experience with marketing and outreach via social media platforms, i.e. Instagram
