    Job Description

    THE OPPORTUNITY

    The MANAGER OF SCHOOL OPERATIONS will manage the day-to-day school operations for a designated portfolio of schools in their region, support our growth, drive efficiencies and high-quality standards, model customer service, and, above all, remove obstacles from our school leaders and teachers so they may focus on teaching and learning.  

    This position will sit on the Operations team, reporting to the Director of School Operations, and oversee all day-to-day operations, including crisis management, serve as the lead executor for key operations measures such as Average Daily Attendance (ADA) and partners with student recruitment and enrollment, through directly managing or matrix managing Assistance Principals of Operations (APOs) and Campus Operations Managers (COMs), and manage campus operations staff retention and more.  This person will work closely with Heads of Schools (HOS) and School Leaders (SLs). 

    MANAGE SCHOOL OPERATIONS TEAMS TO SUCCESS THROUGH COACHING, MENTORSHIP, INFLUENCE, SYSTEM BUILDING, AND DIRECTLY, WHEN NECESSARY, AS MEASURED BY SATISFACTION ON KIPP SURVEYS (TWO STEP TO ONE SONG AND TNTP)

    • Through the Operations Arc of the Year, manage annual, monthly, and weekly priorities for campus operations roles.
    • Leverages the Operations Arc of the Year, routinely assesses APOs based on progress toward goals as well as principal feedback; prioritizes support accordingly
    • Build tools and systems to support campus operations success
    • Set and model customer service standards 
    • Ensure daily operations run smoothly at each school which includes crisis management at times. 
    • Works with APOs to implement strategies to effectively lead in mixed management structures
    • Performs in-the-field observations (O3ss, huddles, walk-throughs, etc.) and participates in the APO performance cycle.
    • Implement comprehensive onboarding plans that involve the following: goal-related skill-building, day-to-day management of ops team, and overall implementation of best practices

    SERVE AS THE EXECUTION PARTNER FOR TOPLINE OPERATIONAL GOALS SUCH AS ENROLLMENT AND ADA. 

    • Average Daily Attendance (ADA) 
      • Coaches APOs on the implementation of standardized frameworks to ensure adherence to the outlined ADA playbook.
      • Collaborates with Heads of Schools to implement best practices, raise awareness of analysis, and leverage tracking mechanisms to positively impact ADA progress
      • Assists with monitoring of ADA work-flow to comply with all federal and state ADA guidelines by staying abreast of changes in ADA policy and procedures, and ensuring all relevant school personnel is trained
    • Student Recruitment and Enrollment
    • Maintain visibility into the state of enrollment informing school leaders of progress and bridging campus operations needs with Student Recruitment and Enrollment
    • Coaches APOs to support the recruitment process for new families with specific applicant goals per grade level as based on historical data
    • Ensures all current families complete re-enrollment process 
    • Ensures all new families in the region are effectively onboarded and persist through their first year in our schools
    • Complies with all federal, state, and organizational student registration requirements throughout the enrollment process (i.e. transfers, testing, etc.)

    Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field preferred
    • Experience: 5+ years of full-time professional experience required; full-time people management preferred 
    • Licenses or Certifications (if applicable): None
