  • Responsibilities

    The Sales Counselor supports, plans and assists in marketing and sales efforts for their assigned community. This position primarily supports the function of the Community Relations Manager in generating new leads for the community, executing admission related work, and supporting discharge planning with an ultimate goal of promoting the community in a positive way. This position helps maintain positive public contact in the community through events, outreach, and campaigns as directed by their manager.  

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, and execute marketing campaigns which would include but not be limited to external community outreach work and events, open house and related events within the residence, and advertising or branding work.

    • Effectively educates medical community regarding the building’s environment and the assisted living services offered to gain appropriate resident referrals.

    • Follows up and executes support tasks related to advertising and promotion activities based on the direction or guidance of the Executive Director or Manager.

    •Spend time making sales calls outside the community targeting key contacts such as medical providers, senior influencers, and other potential referral sources.

    • Responsible for meeting and/or exceeding assigned activity and productivity goals as determined by the Community Relations Manager.

    • Maintains detailed customer information and sales activities as assigned by the department manager.

    • Under the supervision of the manager, this role will plan, market, and lead events inside and outside the building.

    • Visit residents that are in a short-term facility such as rehabilitation centers, hospitals, or surgery center.

    • As delegated by the Community Relations Manager, this role will establish and maintain key community relationships with industry influencers and strategic partners such as the Alzheimer’s Association, AARP, Diabetes Foundations, and so forth.

    • Performs a variety of administrative support tasks with a primary goal of assisting the manager in department organization, admission and lead management, discharge planning, and overall execution of marketing initiatives.

    • Represent the community and increase awareness through participation in outside events, professional groups, and community involvement in the local market as approved by manager.

    • Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records/information, HIPPA.

    • Comply with the Residents Rights and Community Policies and Procedures.

    • Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.

    • Be familiar with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill and Evacuation Procedures and know how to use the information.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Associates degree related to position preferred, experience in health care sales preferred.

    • High school diploma, or GED required.

    • Organized and detailed in work performance.

    • Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience.

    • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

    • Must be computer literate and able to utilize company chosen software.

    • Perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements of your position including standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise move objects for extended periods of time.
