    Job Description

    Work and learn alongside our North American Power Electronics Engineering team to research, design and develop new products for automotive power electronics, specifically in the product line of on-board AC charging systems within agreed time-scales and budgets according to Company procedures.

    Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Provide design assistance, primarily at the interfaces between hardware and software and for the system architecture
    • Research current industry design solutions to help guide new product feature sets and solutions
    • Assist with deriving system requirements from customer requirements and industry standards
    • Assist with designing, building, and validating test systems (hardware and software), harnesses, etc. (as needed)
    • Assist with resolving end-product hardware and software problems with Company processes and tools
    • Data logging and evaluation at both the module and vehicle level
    • Create formal documentation of research, design, and test activities
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience:

    • Working towards a Ph.D, a Master’s, or a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or related discipline
    • Experience in software programming applications either through coursework and/or work experience
    • Experience in electronics hardware design either through previous coursework and/or work experiences
    • Experience in EE and/or CS projects either through previous coursework and/or work experiences
    • High comfort level working with standard personal computer tools (Windows 10 or 11, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel)

    Additional Experience in the following is desired but not required:

    • Involvement in electric or hybrid vehicle research projects
    • Embedded software in Standard C language only (MISRA-compliant C)
    • Automotive CAN and LIN communication
    • Vector tools CANoe (or CANalyzer)
    • Use of software version control personal computer applications
    • Use of document control personal computer applications
    • Hands-on work with basic electronics equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, soldering irons, etc.)
