CARDI'S FURNITURE & MATTRESSES IS LOOKING FOR AN ENERGETIC, HARD-WORKING INDIVIDUAL TO WORK IN THEIR WAREHOUSE FURNITURE PULLING & CUSTOMER PICK-UP DEPARTMENT. THIS POSITION IS KEY TO ENSURE CARDI'S WOW CUSTOMER SATISFACTION BY ENSURING FURNITURE IS PULLED CORRECTLY AND CUSTOMER PICK-UPS ARE PROCESSED WITH THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE.

     

    SCHEDULE: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday 2:00pm - 10:30pm* ( * indicates can be later subject to workload ex Midnight or later ) 

     

    JOB SUMMARY

    Primary purpose is to win each day by delivering extraordinary service and value to each customer, every day. A Warehouse Furniture Pulling & Customer Pick-Up Associate is responsible for producing favorable outcomes for all customers, fellow team members, the company and the communities we serve.

    Responsible for filling customer orders and delivering them to the delivery designated areas in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, and productivity. The Warehouse Furniture Pulling & Customer Pick Up Associate is responsible for the completeness and correctness of all orders filled from the warehouse. Handles customer pick-ups and assists as needed in other warehouse functions while adhering to company standards for safety, security and productivity.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    •  Pulls merchandise for customer orders being picked up by the customer or being delivered to the customers’ homes in an orderly, accurate, timely and safe manner. This entails ensuring that the  correct quantity and type of product is picked.
    •  Scans, picks, pulls and re-wraps and puts away product utilizing proper material handling techniques and equipment to minimize damages.
    •  Verifies SKU(s) and product information to ensure bar code accuracy and reduce inventory variances
    •  Carries or transports product with material handling equipment to appropriate delivery cage as needed and assigned.
    •  Report quality variances to management.
    •  Ensure inbound and outbound product is accurate and free of damage.
    •  Customer Pick-Up:

    o Remove sold goods from showroom floor and; and prep for pick up. o Handles customer pick-ups in accordance with department procedures. o Assist customer with questions regarding their purchase; directing them to the appropriate associate if the answer is not readily available or known. o Promotes loss prevention by verifying customer sales order paperwork and immediately follows-up on suspicious activity by reporting to appropriate parties. o Ensures merchandise is loaded and secured in the customer’s vehicle in a safe and courteous manner and in accordance with department procedures; no loading of product to car roofs or roof racks.

     

    • Assists in investigation and resolution of distribution and shipping inquiries and complaints from manufacturer vendors, freight companies, stores and customers.
    • Answers incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner; direct callers to the appropriate person or take accurate messages as needed.
    • Reports promptly errors found to management and assists, if necessary, in resolving the errors.
    • Provides feedback to management for possible improvements.
    • Assists with training and development of other associates, including on-the-job training for new associates.
    • Participates in training sessions, which will improve and reinforce own knowledge and skills.
    • Attends department / company meetings as required. 
    • Maintains a safe working environment by keeping racks, aisles and work areas organized and clean and conducts walk around safety checks. 
    • Adheres to company safety policy by conducting operations in a manner that promotes safety, such as using personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times required, operating manual and mechanical equipment in a safe manner, operating the cardboard and garbage compactor in a safe manner, un-boxing using a utility knife in a safe manner, adhering to safe lifting techniques, and following proper training for learned job hazards and ergonomic risk factors. 
    • Operates manual and mechanical equipment, such as dollies and/or hand trucks, in a safe and efficient manner to move or hoist product to proper area/location.
    • Reports promptly any machinery concerns to management.
    • Maintains equipment, including changing batteries in stockpickers.
    • Performs stock picker inspection daily prior to operation of machinery.
    • Provides total customer satisfaction through interaction, cooperation and working with associates and managers in all departments. This includes translating with non-English speaking customers if able.
    • Complies with all applicable company health, safety and quality standards and policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
    • Reports to management potential safety issues, hazards or violations.
    • Assists in maintaining security by reporting suspicious activity to management.
    • Perform other functions as needed and required
    • Embraces change by supporting and championing organizational change initiatives.
    • Models company image and culture through positive attitude, spirit of cooperation, appearance and respect for company policies and procedures on every aspect of role functions.

     

    MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

     

    Work is performed in a warehouse environment, with some outdoor exposure during workday. It is a very active job and while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this job, the associate:

     

    •  Continuously stands, walks, bends, stoops, kneels, crouches, crawls, bends, climbs, grips, lifts, pulls, pushes and reaches above shoulder level throughout work shift, •  Uses regularly hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. •  Accesses heights, approximately 35 feet off the ground, for top-level placement of product, •  Lifts/moves objects up to 110 pounds, unassisted, and lifts/moves objects up to 150 pounds, assisted. •  Withstands temperatures in a typical warehouse environment, •  Uses specific vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. •  Uses and operates standard warehouse equipment/machinery such as hand trucks, box cutters, a Radio Frequency (bar coding) hand held inventory control device, a stockpicker and some standard     office equipment, such as computers, telephone, printers, and copy machines.

    Required Experience

     

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:

     

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required. Valid driver’s license required, stock picker certification helpful but not required since will train and certify in house.

    Prior related experience and or training preferred but not required.
