    The SR. PRODUCT SPECIALIST (SERVO AND ROBOT) will provide “pre-sales” technical support and sales/marketing assistance to MEAU Distributors in support of MEAU strategic product lines – Servos & Robots or Inverters, in an effort to achieve significant sales growth within a territory.  Product Specialists act as liaison between Regional Sales and Marketing, and provide a local Marketing presence in the region, performing functions such as creating marketing collateral, creating and delivering sales training, and participating in local marketing events as the Servo & Robot or Inverter Subject Matter Expert (SME).

     

    POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide pre-sale technical support and sales/marketing assistance to distributors and MEAU sales personnel with a focus on strategic Mitsubishi product lines (Servos & Robots or Inverters). Technical support and sales/marketing assistance includes, but is not limited to, these activities:

    • Provide MEAU product, solution & service recommendations for distributors for key & targets customers.

    • Plan and lead joint sales calls with channel, per Distributor Sales Plans (DSPs), to expand customer base and maintain key customer relationships.

    • Serve as the escalated technical resource SME to assigned distributors.

    • Provide engineering and marketing documentation & tools from the MEAU “knowledge base” library.

    • Provide feedback in effort to develop technical/application notes, quick start guides, and other technical marketing materials where applicable.

    • Maintain current knowledge of new products and applications, through self-study, hands-on testing of demo units, and seminar attendance.

    • Participate in TSG seminars, training, and product introduction activities.

    • Provide technical product and solution configuration training to distributor Product Specialists and Application Engineers.

    • Support Marketing collateral such as Success Stories and Case Studies based on regional customer requirements and successes.

    • Create and deliver sales training to both external distributor as well as internal MEAU sales personnel.

    • Work with MEAU Product Marketing to request product enhancements based on technical comparison with our competitors, customer & industry requirements.

    • Communicate with Product Marketing to maintain knowledge of product release schedules and provide input on development for products and solutions necessary to capture additional market share.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

    •  25-40% travel within a Region.

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

    • BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
    • 7-10 years of application experience with industrial automation products.
    • Experience with PLC, VFD, HMI, Servo, Robots, Control Networks and industrial automation applications.
    • Ability to develop and maintain in-depth, up-to-date technical knowledge, including the latest MEAU products, and to serve as escalated technical SME.
    • Technical writing skills.
    • Project management ability.
    • Ability to operate effectively as part of a team.
    • Customer service and phone skills.
    • Professional & respectful communication style and attitude – Both in person and virtual.
    • Ability to develop and perform technical product and solution training for regional customers, distributors and sales teams.
    • Organizational skills, i.e. for documents, demos, work area and time management.

     

    BENEFICIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Strong background in Servo, VFD, Robot, PLC, HMI and industrial networks.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and presence to deal effectively with internal and external customers.
    • Unique experience applying Servo, VFD or Robots in automation applications.
    • CNC sales or technical experience
