    Kremer Pigments, a retail store and educational establishment dedicated to offering museum-quality art materials, research data, and access to some of the rarest pigments on earth, is looking for a new team member. The ideal candidate is an ambitious individual able to work efficiently with a small team of artists. This is a fast-paced job, with a very unique product - unlike any other retail store in the world! The right candidate does not need to be an expert on raw materials, however, they must be able to switch efficiently between surmounting tasks.     Job Summary

    We are seeking a friendly and service-oriented Pigment Associate to join our team! As a Pigment Associate, you will assist customers with their shopping needs and ensure an excellent shopping experience. Responsibilities may include working the register, stocking shelves, processing inventory, and maintaining the store’s appearance. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in customer service and have some knowledge of fine art painting.

    Responsibilities

    Process mail orders by phone, email, and web-store using a professional but accessible demeanor.

    Assist walk-in and phone customers with purchases - offering technical advice on how to make paint, define pigment characteristics, detailing possible painting techniques, etc.

    Store maintenance - upkeep and clean, organize store shelves, separate pigments, find new display tactics.

    Work closely with colleagues on special projects to make paint-making more accessible to customers.

    Qualifications

    Four-year higher education degree.

    Prior work experience in a fast-paced setting.

    The preferred candidate will have a basic understanding of pigments, paint, painting processes, and applications. Expert or highly experienced knowledge is not necessary but welcomed. Interest in learning about historical art materials is a must.

    Must not shy away from switching between clerical and hands-on grunt work.

    Exceptional verbal and written communicator. Excellent writing skills are preferred.

    Professional attitude with an excellent phone demeanor.

    Self-motivated when figuring out new methods to improve efficiency.
