Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Manager that would be overseeing KSI’s 24 nationwide facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our workplace is compliant with all safety regulations, managing workers' compensation claims, as well as maintaining OSHA standards and practices.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations to meet organizational standards.
• Conduct training programs and hold meetings to raise awareness and promote a safety standard conscious environment.
• Manage workers' compensation claims, including coordinating with medical providers and insurance companies to ensure timely and appropriate treatments, adjustments, and appeals.
• Work with insurance brokers and companies to manage our insurance policies, evaluate risk exposure, and develop strategies to minimize loss.
• Maintain OSHA 300 logs, including reviewing injury records, recording incidents, and generating reports.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Develop emergency response plans and procedures.
• Monitor safety performance metrics and provide regular reporting to senior management.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to promote a culture of safety and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety management, occupational health, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in a distribution warehouse environment.
• Thorough understanding of federal and state safety regulations, including OSHA, workers' compensation, and insurance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess safety risks and develop effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to travel 80-90% of the time.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to travel up to 80-90% of the time to different locations.
• Certification in safety management, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), is a plus.

Additional Information

COMPENSATION:

Yearly salary ranging from $ 90,000 - $ 110,000, based on experience
