Job Description

The Logistics Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the transportation and delivery processes across multiple states. The Logistics Manager demonstrates integrity, team building, collaboration, and excellence creating a high-performance culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that management staff is effectively managing the day-to-day delivery activities, including but not limited to driver adherence to SOPs, adherence to routes, and providing safe and efficient operations.
• Assure driver compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. DOT, OSHA, etc.) and ensure that electronic logs are kept current and accurate.
• Direct labor hours, travel, fuel, and consumable supplies within budget, maximizing efficiencies.
• Oversee the proper selection, purchase, and utilization of company assets in support of the Logistics department.
• Observe the effectiveness of daily routing activities to ensure KPIs and Sales/customer satisfaction goals are met.
• Suggest efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures, and assist with the implementation of network changes.
• Communicate with Sales Management and Marketing Associates to collaboratively resolve any customer or delivery opportunities or issues.
• Keep open communication channels with associates by answering questions and explaining policies and procedures.
• Coordinate efforts with the Safety department to aid in training, conducting associate observations, up-dating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes and routine safety inspections.
• Leads open, effective, and ongoing communication and sharing of information between all departments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of management and leadership experience in transportation is required.
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing business and environmental conditions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Excellent computer skills in Excel, MS Word, Powerpoint, and Enterprise Resource Planning software
• Able to travel up to 25%.
• Goal-oriented with proven record of self-motivation and achievement. Strong proactive with strong analytical skills
• Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Uses creativity to seek quality solutions and process improvements
• Demonstrated teamwork skills
• Proactive and able to manage ambiguity effectively. Ability to conceptualize and think strategically

Additional Information

Compensation:

Salary ranging $80,000 - $90,000 based on experience

Requires sitting for relatively long periods of time, while driving. It also requires frequent bending, climbing, movement, and lifting of up to 75 pounds during the physical loading/unloading of vehicles and when stocking products. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
