    Job Description

    To help continue our rapid growth and solve our clients’ toughest problems, we need a Technology Manager to join the team. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing leadership over one of KSM Consulting’s client service teams.  This position will provide guidance and oversight over technology systems ensuring the IT systems are managed, controlled, and optimized with the client's specific needs.  This is a non-telecommuting position including some off-shift hours, weekends and occasional travel. The selected candidate will directly report to the Senior Technology Manager.  This individual will act as the KSM Consulting expert – ensuring client technology roadmaps are built and followed, team members have clear roles and responsibilities, that the work their team performs and adherer’s to KSMC mission and values, and to support KSM Consulting’s holistic approach to client service. You will help to manage and deliver assigned operational and project commitments to clients, utilizing the entire client team as necessary.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage fearless and curious problem solvers
    • Develop technology roadmaps for organizations in the SMB, Enterprise, Public, and Private sectors
    • Build Individual Development guides for your team members
    • Lead sales calls, write proposals and close opportunities for new work and expansion of existing clients
    • Analyze and resolve issues related to the network, infrastructure, and tools
    • Performing successful root cause analysis for complex problem resolution
    • Performing analysis and assessment of server performance and storage capacity and planning for future needs
    • Maintain system documentation
    • Ability to act independently and lead projects based on program requirements
    • Help to design and architect solutions based on customer requirements and coordination with vendors on hardware and software implementation, problems, patches, and upgrades.
    • Provide amazing support to our clients, greatly exceeding their experience of what anyone else has ever done for them.
    • Manage the integrity and security of clients’ data, servers, devices, and software to support the database server, application servers, and storage systems of our clients’ businesses.
    • You will work collaboratively with teams of smart, thoughtful people to best meet the needs of our clients.

    INTERFACE

    • Establish and maintain strong relationships clients, team members, and other practice area leaders
    • Understand and provide recommendations for improvement and usage of technology strategies by leveraging existing client IT capabilities, identifying improvements to existing IT capabilities and define new strategic IT capabilities
    • Stay abreast of business strategy, goals, objectives and operational performance
    • Build and be trusted partners with our clients
    • Interacts directly with the support team members across the IT organization

    DELIVERY/SUPPORT

    • It is critical that this role establish and maintain strong business and technical relationships with the projects and managed services teams and be the key interface point of contact for the successful deployment of technology solutions for clients IT organization.
    • Accountable for gaining and maintaining alignment of delivery success criteria with clients
    • Accountable for effective project management and delivery of work requests and projects within committed budget, schedule and quality for individual projects while also meeting overall department performance goals
    • Accountable for identifying needs, securing commitments and monitoring progress of deliverables from internal and external service provider teams
    • Accountable for ensuring technology solutions comply with architectural standards
    • Decision making responsibility within the discipline and escalates any issues which cannot be resolved to the Senior Technology Manager
    • Responsible for understanding, communicating and ensuring operational policies and standards are adhered to
    • Committed to automating the environment, constantly improving the stability of the environment

    IT PROCESS MGMT. AND ADMINISTRATIVE

    • Accountable for administrative management of 10-15 IT professionals, either as direct reports or secondary reports including HR administration, Salary administration, Time and expense reporting, etc.
    • Conduct performance review and provide feedback as needed.
    • Define, prioritize, allocate resources, track and provide status reporting of work assignments, projects, programs
    • Ensure KSM Consulting processes (solution delivery, operations, work requests, QA, etc.) and standards are established, effectively managed and performed
    • Provide information and periodic updates to support overall IT performance metrics, monthly project status reporting and quarterly resource planning review to clients
    • Ensures projects/programs are completed within the committed time and budget and are engineered with other software applications

    ORGANIZATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS / PEOPLE

    • Provide leadership by establishing the department and individual goals
    • Responsible for developing and maintaining an overall sourcing plan which includes creative sourcing options and alternatives to ensure supply capacities meet work demand, role, and skill set requirements and cost objectives
    • Responsible for assessing and recommending improvements to the organization structure, roles, and responsibilities
    • Responsible for department performance assessments and improvement plans
    • Responsible for coaching, counseling, assisting employees to develop individual career development and training plans

    • You should possess strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems.
    • You should possess excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and oral.
    • You should be able to explain just about anything technical to anyone, regardless of their background.
    • MCSA or equivalent certification.
    • You should be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

    SOME OF THE TECHNICAL SKILLS WE ARE EXPECTING:

    • Servers: Active Directory, Domain, SSL Certificate, Backups, Antivirus
    • Cloud:  Azure, Office 365, AWS, Google
    • Network: Firewalls, Switches, Wireless, Voice, DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS, Routing
    • Computers: Computer deployment, printer deployment
    • Applications and Products: Office 365, Common Line of Business Apps, Barracuda, Fortinet, Cisco, HP
    • Experience leading IT projects and/or staff
    • Experience with Windows Server and Desktop operating systems (ie., Windows 10, Server 2012/2016)
    • Knowledge of Virtualization (ie., VMware, Horizon, vSphere, vCenter, vCloud, vRealize, NSX, vSAN or VXRail)
    • Experience with anti-virus and antispam products
    • Experience with identity management solutions
    • Proven ability to create documentation and reports using MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
    • Demonstrated strong verbal & written communication and organization skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic IT environment
    • Knowledge of project management in relation to the delivery of IT services
    • Demonstrated ability working in a teaming/collaborative environment
    • Ability to develop and maintain Standard Operating Instructions (SOI)
    • Demonstrated ability working with proposals for new business
    • Demonstrated ability to perform COTS software installations and support
    • Knowledge of Operating Systems life cycle management and configuration management (i.e., Installation/Upgrades, System Imaging, Account Management, Print Services, Group Policy Objects (GPO), Domain Services, Hardware Modernization, Performance Monitoring, etc.)
    • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with hardware and software vendors for maintenance/repair/upgrade/license mgmt.
    • Knowledge of the creation and administration of Group Policies and Active Directory Domain Services
    • Knowledge/understanding of Domain Name Services (DNS)
    • Knowledge of configuration management tools and software deployment

    PREFERRED SKILLS:

    • Consulting Experience in IT Managed Services
    • IT Related Certifications (i.e., MCSA or equivalent technology)
    • Must have worked within a multi-disciplined, cross-functional technical organization with matrixes reporting relationship
    • Experience in Engineering, multiple major project delivering of mid-large/scale projects/programs.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
    • 5 – 6 years of management experience in an IT or leadership related role
    • Formal Leadership Training
    • Formal Communications Training
