    We are seeking an EHS Specialist for our Hollywood, AL location. As an EHS Specialist, you will accomplish day to day tactical and strategic objectives in support of company EH&S goals. You will embrace and promote company core values to establish and maintain a culture committed to ethical practices and legal compliance. In addition, the EHS Specialist will drive continual improvement and the achievement of HSE goals and develop opportunities to prepare for current and future challenges.

    The right individual for this role will have a thorough understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements including regulatory and compliance. This role is in an automotive manufacturing plant, and as a global automotive company, we believe in a clean environment. We embrace a safe, clean and hazard-free manufacturing work environment.

    Your missions and authorities:

    The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager performs professional environmental work to protect and/or improve air, land, and water resources in order to provide a clean and healthful environment. The EHS Manager also eliminates or controls hazardous conditions resulting from human error and equipment / machine operations that may lead to human injury and / or property damage. This role requires professional knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of environmental issues concerned with facilities and systems for controlling pollution and protecting quality of resources and the environment and must apply professional principles, methods and techniques.

    Your general activities:

    • Create and implement general health and safety policies and procedures and ensure training needs are met; all in accordance with OSHA guidelines and company-specific standards
    • Assist in the investigation of all health and safety related incidents
    • Compile and submit accidents reports required by regulatory agencies
    • Represent the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs
    • Complete Job Safety Analysis' for all existing and new equipment
    • Ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures
    • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and 5S philosophy to maintain a safe, clean working environment
    • Meet company safety goals
    • Create a culture of awareness, acceptance & adherence to the EHS requirements
    • Inspect the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks
    • Audit and analyze EHS performance data and propose effective improvements
    • Perform facility audits, surveys and inspections to identify environmental and occupational hazards, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and develop recommendations that provide solutions, remedies or process improvement
    • Proactively meet KPI requirements in order to reduce exposure and control risk
    • Recommend and implement new processes while working closely with regulatory and corporate compliance via established auditing processes and risk analysis - work on various items with EPA, OSHA
    • Lead Safety and Hazard assessments activities including Process Hazard Analysis, Job Safety Analysis
    • Track compliance for the various Federal, State and Local environmental requirements
    • Prepare, submit and document all EPA and OSHA requirements

    The qualified applicant will have:

    • EHS experience in a manufacturing environment (experience at an Automotive OEM and/or Tier 1 supplier is helpful, but other manufacturing environments are acceptable)
    • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements, such as OSHA and EPA compliance standards
    • At least one year to three years of experience in a related role
    • Relevant education and/or certifications (such as a related college degree, OSHA certification, etc.)
