    Job Description

    OVERVIEW:

    We are looking for an experienced Surveyor who will work with project surveyors in organizing, managing, and executing the work plan for a broad range of projects including: transportation, ALTA's, construction, right of way engineering, large-scale utility, and development projects. Possibility for supervision of technical and drafting staff, deed and map research and project management. Typically would be responsible for boundary survey calculations analysis and final map checking, abstracting title data and client relations. This position is in the office.

    JOB DUTIES:

    · Assist and support Project Manager on a daily basis

    · Provide technical-level aspects of land surveying

    · Support includes research, data reduction and analysis, title reports review and analysis, legal descriptions & plats, exhibits, ACSM/ALTA Land Title surveys, topographic and utilities mapping, boundaries, record map preparation

    · Perform survey calculations, analysis, and field support calculations

    · Must be competent in the knowledge of/and able to perform the following: analyze survey control— GPS and conventional; preparation of ALTA surveys; assume duties of Survey Manager in his/her absence; ensure the accurate and complete preparation of, and sign: Tentative Map, Parcel Map, Final Map, Record of Survey, ALTA,Maps, Plats, and Legal Descriptions.

    · Support Project Manager with project tasks and schedules to meet project deadlines.

    · Candidate will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and performing professional land survey work and engineering survey/mapping work within the office.

    · Assigns work and trains subordinate professional, technical, and managerial staff in the field and with preparing technical data and calculations to be used in the office or field by engineers.

    · Prepares and/or reviews calculations, field notes, maps, title reports, easement documents consisting of engineering, construction, design, and topographic surveys.

    · Prepares and/or reviews parcel and subdivision maps, records of surveys, photogrammetric surveys, plats and legal descriptions.

    · Reviews and checks surveyors' and engineers' work and reports involving survey-related matters.

    · Aware of project budgets and effectively manages time accordingly.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    · Must be proficient in: AutoCAD/ Civil 3D

    · A working knowledge of StarNet/StarLev least squares adjustment software and MS Office Suite is a plus

    · Experience using Trimble Business Center software is highly desirable

    · TYPICALLY A MINIMUM OF EIGHT (8) YEARS RELATED EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

    · Must maintain a high level of professionalism and possess good interpersonal and communication skills

    · Help the Project Manager to define project tasks and schedules to meet project deadlines

    · Demonstrate some knowledge of public agency codes, processes and requirements

    · Must be able to accurately follow direction/instruction and work cooperatively as part of a team

    · Ability for field work on occasion, therefore, must be physically able to work in the field in various field conditions and travel across rough, uneven or rocky surfaces. This includes the ability to drive a vehicle in these conditions and rough terrain.

    · Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to extreme outdoor elements and dust.

    · Must have a clean driving record. Minimum liability limits on your personal auto policy must be either $100,000 / Person / $300,000/Accident / $50,000 property damage or $300,000 CSL (Combined Single Limit).
