Wanted...Direct Support Professionals to work with a male who has developmental disabilities and/or intellectual disabilities. Must have high school diploma or equivalent, be caring, respectful and creative.
The ideal candidate will be dependable, compassionate, and courteous with outstanding communication skills. You should be able to follow instructions and perform a variety of tasks to help the individual.
DSP Responsibilities
- Assist individual in accessing community resources and providing transportation (doctor's appointments, public events, walks, exercise facilities, etc.)
- Assist individual with personal care and hygiene
- Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the individual (when they are able)
- Assist and transport the individual with shopping
- Encourage and assist individual in light housekeeping duties
- Be a pleasant and supportive companion
- Report any unusual incidents
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
DSP Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with IDD
- Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
