The Role You Will Play
- As part of the leadership team of the Asian markets, the Chief Pricing Actuary provides advice to the Asia management team into the long-term strategy and the short-term tactics of the region, including pricing strategy and considerations of insurance risk and operational risk.
- This role will lead functional aspects of traditional pricing for the firm’s Asian operations including setting and granting pricing authorities, managing escalation process and procedures, and signing off large and complex transactions and pricing basis.
- In addition, the Chief Pricing Actuary plays a critical role in providing global leadership into the technical direction of the firm’s global pricing strategy, methodology and guidance.
- This role directly manages a team of highly skilled, regional actuarial professionals to provide immediate, expert support to local offices throughout Asia and globally, as needed.
- The Chief Pricing Actuary is entrusted with ensuring the pricing integrity and risk management discipline is maintained across the region.

Background Profile
- 10+ years of proven success in senior management and leadership roles
- 15+ years of actuarial experience in life, annuity or health including 5+ years in reinsurance and minimum 5+ years of experience leading diverse teams in the Asian markets
- Accreditation as a fellow in a globally recognized actuarial association (e.g. US, Canada, Australia, UK or equivalent)
- Strong combination of both technical depth and people leadership experience, ideally across a variety of Asian cultures and geographies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English partnered with expert persuasion and negotiation skills when working with internal/external customers to resolve issues and problems with a strong understanding of the various Asian cultures and differences
