To apply directly, please click the link below: https://kamwaytransportation.bamboohr.com/jobs/view.php?id=5 SUMMARY: The Staff Accountant is responsible to provide accurate and timely month-end reporting and reconciliation of general ledger accounts. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties/responsibilities listed below. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties/responsibilities of this job. - Journal entries and general month-end accounting duties including accruals for multiple related companies - Detailed bank and general ledger account reconciliations - Conduct variance analysis and provide cost reports to management to improve business operations - Examine costs incurred in relation to activities conducted to determine effective use of resources - Assist Controller with Audit requests including preparing audit schedules - Maintain debt and depreciation schedules - Prepare and distribute recurring reports - Prepare state and federal tax compliance reports (sales tax, fuel tax, L&I, etc.) - Review payroll (processed by third parties) for accuracy and post to the general ledger - Other responsibilities and special projects as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below. These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job. Education/Experience: to perform this job successfully, an individual must have: - High School Diploma or a General Education Degree required - College level accounting studies from a four-year accredited college/university - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred - Minimum 2 years general ledger experience. Skilled in general accounting, analysis, account reconciliation and month-end closing & financial reporting - Minimum of 2 years related accounting experience and/or training - or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Proficient with accounting software; experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and Management Reporter would be a plus Mental & Other Skills/Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the: Adaptability: ability to adapt to changes, delays, or unexpected events in the work environment; ability to manage competing demands and prioritize tasks; ability to change approach or method to best fit the situation. WORKING CONDITION/PHYSICAL EFFORT: General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
