    The Manager, Facilities Engineering, oversees the company’s safety program, environmental management, and equipment and facilities readiness. He/she provides leadership and direction in assessing, determining, and executing facility capital expenditures and maintenance enhancement needs with significant focus on improving productivity and minimizing labor & overhead costs. This position directs, plans, controls, and staffs and organizes the activities and development of associates to achieve the overall safety, cost, production, and quality objectives of the Facilities Engineering area(s). Additionally, is responsible for all equipment, building, support staff, communication internally and externally, motivation of staff and maintenance personnel, as well as long-range strategic planning activities for safety management, environmental programs, and facilities maintenance.

    Summary of essential job functions:

     

    • Maintain optimum levels of equipment, machine, and system active time by ensuring machinery and facilities are fully operational or ready to perform their intended functions. Via a Facilities Work Order System, reinvigorate Preventive Maintenance Routines, enable training of Facilities associates, ensure adequate and appropriate depth of spare parts and components, and improve the ability to quickly respond to issues and effectively troubleshoot problematic equipment.
    • Contribute to EBITDA goals through careful management of the Facilities budget and capital plan. Manage contractor work throughout the facility economically and efficiently — partner with Purchasing on competitive events for facility services and contracting. Further, manage overtime and Facilities workforce to ensure the facility has appropriate and skilled coverage, but manage overtime and premium (weekend/holiday) work carefully.
    • Achieve a DART rate of '0' by returning to a zero-tolerance behavioral-based safety policy within the facility. Manage to a goal of '0' lost-time accidents each year. Lead the regeneration of the Consolidated Behavioral Based Safety initiative, reinstating the Safety Council, Health & Safety Compliance Calendar of events, engage all professional and associate levels within the company to instill a safety-oriented culture and way of working. Mentor the organization, from office workers to those handling hazardous materials, to improve their safety awareness. Evaluate the facility continuously and champion improvements for safety and security. Stay abreast of local, state, and national requirements, particularly OSHA minimums, and proactively implement needed improvements to avoid penalties or 3rd party sanctions.

     

     

     

     

    • Monitor any pending environmental legislation and assist manufacturing facilities in understanding and complying with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Identify, track, and report on key performance Indicators relevant to environmental aspects and impacts to drive accountability and performance measurement. Provide technical support and oversight and improvement of environmental information management systems. Interpret data and provide recommendations to improve energy efficiency, recycling, waste disposal, water use, and air pollution control. Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence relative to assigned program areas — audit facilities and programs to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and corporate standards.
    • Effectively promote energy conservation and pollution prevention programs including site assessments, benchmarking, collaboration, and communication of best practices enterprise-wide. Assist in strategic planning, procedure development, standardization, and program implementation. Perform industry benchmarking analyses concerning environmental aspects, programs, and performance. Evaluate and maintain general knowledge of external environmental programs and certifications and make recommendations for application within the company.
    • Ensure hourly associates complete annually defined training plans of up to 20 hours a year of formal training, or as required to fulfill their roles within the Facilities Engineering team.

    Minimum requirements:

    • BS Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Management, 5-years’ experience, or more in aerospace metal fabrication is hughly preferred
    • Due to ITAR this position requires US Citzenship or permanent residency.
