    Backed by L Squared Capital, Kanopy is rapidly expanding to distribute our thoughtful entertainment to a wider audience globally. By joining our growing Content team, you will play an integral role in driving Kanopy's growth by supporting the licensing team and our content partners.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    At Kanopy, we believe in the power of film. We are looking for the right person to be responsible for supporting the Content Team's goals and objectives to deliver on the company's Content strategy. This position, based out of our Costa Mesa office in Orange County, will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of global film licensing of quality thoughtful entertainment and will work closely with the Content Team, based in both SF and OC offices, to ensure Kanopy continues to innovate new ways to find the best content for our diverse worldwide audiences and to propel both classic and modern motion pictures that spark discourse, raise awareness, and educate the world through the most accessible form of media: film.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Oversee all licensing processes including updating CRM systems, coordinate and drive the flow of contracts between stakeholders and ability to make contractual edits when required

    • Work closely with content partners to assure our asset requirements are understood and met; oversee the asset delivery process

    • Manage contractual negotiations for addendums for small to mid-sizes content partners

    • In charge of all day-to-day communications with small to mid-size content partners

    • Manage all aspects of content partner relationships and CRM activities, including onboarding new content partners; bringing in new avails and managing all communications around avails review; overseeing royalty reporting communications; and generally being the point person for all content partner inquiries

    • Oversee and update content partner customer support systems and processes

    • Responsible for managing the workflows, including the licensing and content funnel, databases and reporting

    • Work with the Accounting team to provide regular reports on forecast analysis and MG and Advance recoupment schedules among other reports

    SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Understanding of film rights and film licensing landscape

    • 1-2 years licensing and contracts experience

    • Passionate about independent film

    • Excellent phone and email communication skills

    • Highly organized with deep attention to detail

    • Ability to work autonomously when required, and to also build solid relationships with outside departments in a collaborative way

    • Team player, who thrives in a transparent and collaborative working environment

    • Experience with negotiations a plus

    • Knowledge of video and caption types a plus
