ABOUT THE ROLE

At Kanopy, we really believe in the power of film. We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Assistant, Content Acquisitions who is excited to help us propel both classic and modern motion pictures that spark discourse, raise awareness, and educate the world through the most accessible form of media: film. 

The role will report to the Director of Content Acquisitions and would provide key administrative support to the Content Acquisitions team. Primary team members are based in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Remote employment is approved for strong candidates, though preference will be given to those located in Pacific or Mountain time zones.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain Acquisitions databases and enter new and updated licensing terms into rights management systems.
• Assist with basic contract amendments for new title acquisitions and rights updates on existing titles.
• Assist with external content partner communications as needed.
• Prepare reports on key acquisition updates across teams.
• Light scheduling
• Review new title avails and screen potential acquisitions as needed.
• Assist with other projects as assigned within Content Operations and Acquisitions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Acute attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills, demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines;
• Strong knowledge of excel.
• Effective communication skills – both written and oral.
• A team player with a ‘get it done' work ethic, adept at self-management in a remote working environment.
• Keen interest in entertainment industry trends, a current understanding of the film and television media landscape, and long term goals to grow a career in film acquisitions licensing, programming, and/or distribution
