    ABOUT KANOPY

    Kanopy is a video streaming platform that brings people together through film. By partnering with universities and libraries, we've made it possible to offer free access to the world's top film collection for millions of people. We're growing and are looking for the right Controller to come and join our team as we continue to scale our efforts.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    We are looking for a Controller to support the management team by overseeing accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls and process improvements. The successful candidate will also provide insightful analysis and recommendations for the high growth business. This role reports to the CFO.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Own the timely completion of Monthly, Quarterly, and Year-End Financial Close
    • Partner with department heads to manage team budgets, identify areas to allocate spend, and provide data and insights to make effective decisions
    • Lead team of accounting staff, including AR and AP, to manage general ledger, tax, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and the annual audit
    • Monitor and further develop operational policies and internal systems
    • Manage international and domestic treasury functions
    • Liaison for all strategic tax and tax compliance outsourced functions
    • Provide vision for scaling financial infrastructure and accounting team to grow with the business
    • Facilitate in preparation of budgets, cash flow forecasts, and other management reports
    • Work on ad-hoc financial analysis projects to support company initiatives

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance/Business Management with an emphasis in Accounting required
    • CPA certification or MBA degree preferred
    • 2+ years in a Financial Controller role preferred
    • Experience with international companies, currencies and transfer pricing principles
    • In-depth knowledge of accounting and accounting principles, financial management and budgeting
    • Ability to effectively organize and manage workload and demonstrate flexibility in managing multiple priorities while adhering to deadlines
    • Strong excel literary in analyzing, manipulating, and validating data
    • Experience with NetSuite a plus
