PLS-CADD Transmission Line Project Engineering Manager - Kansas City (onsite) (2 openings)

We are seeking an Overhead Transmission Line Project Engineering Manager to lead the design and delivery of high-voltage transmission line projects. This role combines technical leadership and project management, overseeing multidisciplinary engineering teams while ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards. Strong PLS-CADD expertise is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams on overhead transmission line projects (69kV and above)

• Manage engineering scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables across multiple projects

• Serve as the technical lead for PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, and transmission design

• Perform and review structural loading, framing, and foundation design calculations

• Coordinate engineering activities across disciplines including permitting, procurement, and construction support

• Interface with utility clients, support proposals, and assist with business development efforts

• Mentor engineers and provide guidance on transmission design tools and best practices, including PLS-CADD

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, or related)

• 8–12+ years of overhead transmission line design experience at 69kV+

• Advanced PLS-CADD experience required

• Strong background in structural aspects of transmission design (foundations, framing, materials)

• Experience with transmission structures including steel, wood, laminate, composite; lattice towers a plus

• Experience supporting EPC or engineering consulting projects for utility clients preferred

• PE license strongly preferred
