To help us drive excellence, you’ll get to:
- Perform Temperature Uniformity Survey and System Accuracy Tests of multi-layer stack furnaces.
- Verify incoming and in process material meets the Customer requirements.
- Metallurgical sample prep, micro hardness testing microscopes and digital imaging.
- Prepare (mount, cut, and polish) and interpret metallographic samples for special requests and heat treat batches when needed.
- Diagnose and report causes for issues with the process.
- Manage a batch and hold process internally to prevent nonconforming product from getting out.
- Completing LPA and EHS audits as scheduled.
- Understands how to use measurement tools and lab equipment and document preparation related issues if results are non-conforming.
- Communicate quality issues and concerns and/or non-conforming or suspect material with Metallurgical Lab Manager and team members.
- Provide expertise including, but not limited to: problem solving/issue resolution; failure analysis; mechanical/physical/chemical behavior of materials; materials characterization and analysis; and process selection and optimization.
This full-time salary role is a part of our Metallurgy team and reports to the Metallurgy Manager.
Required experience:
- Desired Degree: AAS in Chemistry, Mechanical, or Material Science Degree (in process of completing the education).
- BAS in Metallurgy or Industrial Materials with 0-2 years of plant experience or equivalent combination of education or experience.
Leadership/ Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Direct and assist Associates in the Metallurgical Lab on the off shift and support the Metallurgical Lab Manager.
- Fulfill supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
