    JOB SUMMARY

    A healthy relationship between Kansas City Southern de Mexico and government institutions is crucial to the success of the railroad. This position manages and represents the President or other operational areas and maintains a continuous relationship with associations, chambers, business, Chamber of Deputies and Senators, Regulators and other actors and/or customs and port service.

    Recognized within the organization as a functional expert with specialized depth and/or breadth of knowledge. Works independently, with guidance only in the most complex situations. Solves complex problems; identifies new solutions using a broad perspective and understanding. Leads large-scale projects with substantial resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. May lead a project team with influence over contribution of others. Translates functional vision into plans and guides their execution.

     

    JOB DUTIES

    • Manages problems of coexistence with the railway community. Cooperates with inter-institutional relations to guarantee the company's link with Federal, State and Municipal authorities.
    • Analyzes proposals of the federal, state and municipal authorities for feasible construction works to be included in the existing urban rail program and gains attention of government representatives at the three levels, attends events with cameras and associations, accidents / incidents and matters of the communities bordering the Railroad.
    • Monitors public policies that may have a positive or negative impact on the company, maintaining a constant lobby with federal authorities on issues of interest to the company.
    • Establishes and strengthens cooperation with institutions and organizations in the social and private sectors.
    • Engages proactively and sensitively in the area of public policies, which can affect the company, preventing its implementation.
    • Participates in the preparation, implementation, control and evaluation of the Presidency's plans and work programs.
    • Supports the infrastructure area in negotiations that are required with Federal, State and Municipal authorities to implement construction, expansion or maintenance projects of the roads and facilities granted in concession to KCS, this includes cooperating with other areas carrying out repairs on rails or grade crossings and obtaining the support of the authorities at all levels.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in Law, International Relations, or a job related major field of study
    • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant professional experience, including specialized knowledge of a discipline utilized to lead an area of our business, or equivalent combination of education and experience

     

    PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

    • Experience in similar positions 5+ years minimum in Corporate Affairs with: Community and Business Organizations, and Governments: Federal, State and Municipal
    • Fluent in English & Spanish.
    • Microsoft Office tools proficiency
    • Business Protocol knowledge
