  • Responsibilities

    Operate high speed machines that insert printed matter, such as letters or booklets into folders or envelops.  Set up and adjust the machine to operate efficiently.  Oversee and make adjustments as necessary.

    Requires knowledge of standard set ups, adjustments and operating characteristics of the equipment and skill to perform standard adjustments and operate the equipment.  Ability to set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to the equipment according to the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and capabilities of the equipment.  Typically, the adjustments performed at this level are routine and the need for such adjustments are readily apparent.

    Required Skills

    Requires excellent knowledge of standard set ups, adjustments and operating characteristics of the equipment and skill to perform standard adjustments and operate the equipment.

    Ability to perform basic mathematics (i.e. decimals, metric units) to understand dimensional requirements contained in job orders and to make more complicated adjustments. 

    Ability to use the full range of standard and specialized tools and devices to adjust and maintain the functional accuracy and operating conditions of the bindery machines.  Skill in making adjustments to powered machines using hand tools (i.e. wrenches, screwdrivers, punches, knives) as well as more specialized hand tools, usually furnished by the machine manufacturer. 

    Ability to read and interpret documents to include job tickets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals which indicates the number and sequence of machine operations required to complete the work and maintain dimensional accuracy in accordance with instructions provided.

    Able to work extended hours and weekends

    Must regularly and frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds.

    Required Experience

    Minimum 2 years experience operating mailing/inserter equipment required.  Pitney Bowes Flowmaster experience a plus.
