    AUTOKINITON, formerly L&W Group, is excited to announce an opening for a Tandem Press Technician in Holland, Michigan! As a busy manufacturing supplier that produces car parts for major automotive customers around the world, we need you to apply.

     

    SUMMARY

    Sets up and operates power press to trim, punch, shape, notch, draw, or crimp metal, by performing the following duties.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    *Must be familiar with press operations.

    *Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in press according to specifications working with die setterds.

    *Positions work in die on locating pins or stops.

    *Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.

    *Inspects workpieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors including first piece.

    *Cleans machines.

    *Catches, packs and inspects parts.

    *Operate Quality Gages.

    *Perform hourly checks.

    *Fill out lot tags, production reports, PVD forms, and die maintenance control forms.

    *Keeps work area neat and organized.

    *Reports any problems to Supervisor

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalency is required.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization. 

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

     

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

     

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Must be able to obtain a Forklift and Overhead Crane operator license.

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications

    Must be skilled in handling controls for starting, stopping, backings, and driving fork lift or clamp truck through aisles in building, up and down ramps, and in and out of railroad cars, trucks, etc.; and, for lifting, lowering, and tilting forks by moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate controls.  Must know how high, wide, and long the fork lift truck and its load are, and how much the fork lift truck can lift.  Good special ability to identify how high and wide a doorway and an aisle must be to drive the fork lift truck and its load; how high and wide the shelf, bin, etc., must be to place the load; and how high the load must be lifted to reach the shelf or bin.  Must be able to recognize whether the fork lift truck is able to lift the load and whether the load is properly balanced.   Knowledge of the layout of the storage area to be able to find and place items without need for detailed instructions.   Able to lift, move, stack boxes/cartons, by hand, weighing up to 50 pounds. Reading and comprehending simple instructions and job tickets in English.

    Must be able to work varying shifts, overtime, and weekends as necessary.
