**Job Summary: **
The Lesley H. and William L. Collins College of Professional Studies is seeking a candidate for the position of Assistant Dean who is eager to be part of a collegial, dynamic, team-based working environment and whose central focus is excellence. The Assistant Dean will assist in all academic matters including advisement, pre-registration, and monitoring of the progression of students in the college as well as assist in the general activities of the Office of the Dean of the Collins College of Professional Studies.
**Responsibilities of an assistant dean include but are not limited to: **
Providing academic advisement, including pre-registration, transfer evaluations, graduation checks and monitoring progress for students on academic probation
Assisting with graduation, open houses, and other special events
Representing the college on committees and at recruitment functions
Resolving academic concerns for students, faculty, and department chairs
Fostering positive and productive relationships with the Registrar, Bursar, Financial Aid Office, and other academic partners to endure smooth operations of daily events
Serving as a liaison to other units and support services throughout the University
Coordinating new and existing academic projects
Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to academic advisement services, student outcomes, and persistence rates to identify trends and areas of improvement
Working evening/weekend hours as needed
Assisting in other duties as assigned by the college dean
**Qualifications: **
Master’s degree preferred and advisement/counseling experience or related experience in higher education
An appreciation and respect for a diverse student/faculty population with a keen sensitivity to student needs
Proficient computer skills, especially in MS Office; knowledge of BANNER and Formstack is preferred
The ability to work productively and professionally in a fast paced environment
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Strong work ethic
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: **
This is a full-time in-person position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Coverage for events after hours for programmatic and College events occasionally in the evening or on weekends (Open houses, Convocations, Graduation).
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary for this position is $62,400. Ability to manage projects including preparation for presentations and demonstrations, training, scheduling, and reporting, and expense processing. This is critical to the success of the sales opportunities as the Sr. Sales Engineer will be required to manage multiple sales campaigns at any given time.
A HIGH LEVEL UNDERSTANDING of basic networking and operating system concepts, development / scripting – Ability to develop, test and deploy custom VB/VBA scripts, Java and Java Script, HTML and CSS. Industry specific business pain points with active paper processing, storage, and retrieval, and an understanding of J2EE, XML, .NET, OCR, ICR and their use in business processing.
A HIGH LEVEL UNDERSTANDING of each of the suites that constitute the Kofax product line and the ability to fit the pieces together into the whole strategy - By stating the requirement for ‘a HIGH LEVEL UNDERSTANDING’, it is defined as the ability to:
