    Axis Engineering is dedicated to designing and developing assembly solutions, metal forming and inspection fixtures.

    To help us drive excellence, as an Assembly Engineer you’ll get to: ****

    • Make recommendations of best business practices.
    • Lead the assembly process meetings and maintain the assembly equipment and tooling timing charts.
    • Manages Capability of all in production tooling installed in the business unit. Tracks, coordinates, and executes corrective actions where required.
    • Monitors assembly tool uptime/downtime metrics to determine task prioritization and scope.
    • Support all customer meetings, internal meetings, and project reviews.
    • Interface with all internal departments to ensure they are kept up to date on the assembly equipment and tool status.
    • Lead the business unit cross-functional team in all launch and production startup activities and coordinate all tryout materials to ensure availability.
    • Manage and maintain the assembly equipment including tool designs, equipment fabrication, tryout materials, and launch support.
    • Maintain assembly equipment and tooling program open issues log and lessons learned log.
    • Manage all engineering changes.
    • Manage APQP and procedures.
    • Ensure the assembly equipment and tool program follows proper Autokiniton procedures and standards.
    • Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate policies, regulations, and laws.
    • Adhere to Company policies and procedures (e.g., Finance Manual, Colleague Handbook, Change Control, etc.).

    This full-time role is a part of our Engineering & Die Designer Team and reports to the Sr. Assembly Manager.


    Required Skills & Abilities:

    • Proficient in troubleshooting and correcting workflow problems.
    • Experience in applying and teaching lean manufacturing concepts.
    • Experience in design, fabrication, and installation of assembly equipment and tools
    • Sound organization skills.
    • Knowledge of APQP processes and the ability to manage and maintain standardized procedures.
    • CAD and Computer experience (UG, Catia, AutoCad Desktop etc.).
    • Ability to read and interpret CMM data, SPC and dimensional data reports.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
    • Minimum six (6) years or more of hands-on manufacturing experience
    • Experience in metal joining. ****
