    Department Information

    The Department of Business Analytics and Information Systems of the Tobin College of Business of St. John’s University is inviting applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level starting in Fall 2024.

    The Business Analytics department offers the following degrees: B.S. in Business Analytics, M.S. in Business Analytics, MBA concentration in Information Systems, and MBA concentration in Business Analytics.     Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include maintaining an active research profile, teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses, and contributing to the university through service, all essential at the Tobin College of Business for tenure and promotion. Our faculty engage in professional and program development and assessment and service to the University and broader community. Candidates should be familiar with technology-supported learning pedagogy, and be able to integrate technology into teaching. Furthermore, candidates should be capable of using different teaching modalities such as face-to-face, online, and hybrid modes.

    Qualifications

    A Ph.D. in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Business Analytics, Supply Chain/Logistics or a closely related field is required for a tenure-track position. A successful applicant will be determined to produce research at top quality journals, while being an effective, empathetic teacher at both the undergraduate and graduate level. All specialization areas in Business Analytics will be considered; however, preferred areas of expertise are machine learning, analytical computing, statistics, data mining, supply chain/logistics, and decision sciences. Preference will be given to candidates who can support the growth of undergraduate and graduate programs.

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary range for this position is $144,100 - $157,000. St. John’s University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

    • Requires comprehensive knowledge of a wide variety of techniques, procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, and safety requirements to set-ip, adjust, operate, and maintain equipment to produce single-, two-, and/or multi-color work to critical tolerances. 
    • Skill in a wide-variety of complex manipulations and mechanical procedures to perform a variety of tasks to set-up, make major adjustments, and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs of equipment to produce single-, two-, and/or multi-color work. 
    • Skill to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, press settings and materials needed to run the job successfully. 
    • Skill in use of micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly.Requires comprehensive knowledge of a wide variety of techniques, procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, and safety requirements to set-ip, adjust, operate, and maintain equipment to produce single-, two-, and/or multi-color work to critical tolerances.
