    SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This position works under supervision of the Senior Weld Engineer and is considered entry to intermediate level. Learns to apply knowledge to non-routine situations, seeking guidance when needed. This is a Night Shift position, from 6:30 PM – 5:00 AM.

    Assisting the automated and manual weld processes

    • Assist in continuously improving welding operations through process evaluation and research into new technologies
    • Support project engineering on new and existing programs
    • Assist in specifying welding equipment, welding consumables, electrical and mechanical systems, robotic systems, and any related components associated with the welding process
    • Assist in evaluation processes and procedures to maintain or improve weld parameters and weld efficiency
    • Assist in development of the weld quality control process
    • Assist in designing, developing, and testing welding methods, materials, processes, and results
    • Strong interpersonal skills required for effective communication and coordination with all departments and customers
    • Interface with all facility departments to assist in resolving welding process issues
    • Follow OSHA Guidelines and promote safe work environment within the weld engineering team

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    Desired Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in weld/robotics engineering or equivalent (CWI, CWE)
    • A minimum of three (3) years of related technical experience in manual and automated welding processes
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product designs, safety, quality and workflow
    • Knowledge in robotic welding and material handling applications
    • Knowledge in robotic programming (ex. ABB, Fanuc robots, etc.)
    • Understanding of electrical/controls circuitry and schematics
    • Knowledge of AutoCAD and weld drawings
    • General knowledge of the following:
      • Weld power source, wire feeder, torch and reamer
      • Plasma cutting, grinding and rework applications
      • Weld shielding gas technologies
      • Customer welding specifications and testing requirements
      • Gas metal arc welding
      • Resistance spot welding
      • Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment
