Job Description
The Member Programs Associate will be responsible for supporting the portfolio of conferences, collaborative contracts, and other services aimed at strengthening the twenty-one private non-profit colleges which make up the members of the Kansas Independent College Association. KICA seeks candidates who can quickly demonstrate competency, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking to the role and are comfortable with a small, collaborative team. It is essential that the candidate also has an appreciation for the mission of KICA and the criticality of discretion and respect for the diversity of the organization's member colleges. This position's portfolio of activities includes: * Supporting the logistics for 3-5 annual professional development conferences and several monthly virtual meetings for staff and faculty from KICA member campuses. * Additionally supporting irregular one-off professional development events focused on specific topics or issues, as they may arise. * Collecting and contributing content to weekly and monthly e-newsletters to KICA campus staff regarding KICA programs and advocacy updates. * Contributing content to KICA media channels, especially web and social media. * Facilitating the collection of scholarship application materials for scholarships offered by KICA to students at member institutions. * Attending various state legislature and state agency meetings and summarizing relevant items for KICA leadership. * Completing additional tasks, as may be necessary to support emerging efforts of KICA, as determined by KICA leadership. * Other duties and projects, as assigned. The Member Programs Associate will report directly to the Vice President for Member Programs. Hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and will work out of the Topeka office. Some travel is required, primarily within the state of Kansas. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree required. Degree from a KICA member institution or peer non-profit college or university preferred. * Degree (or work experience) in at least one of the following: * Communications and media relations, including the use of traditional and social media tools and web design; and/or * Graphic design, including the creation of technical graphics and creative content for print and electronic media Compensation: Salary set at $37,500 with full health and dental insurance and generous retirement benefit.
