    HOURS: FULL-TIME (EXEMPT), 40 HOURS/WEEK

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    The Group Programs & University Relations Assistant will work closely with our University Relations & Customized Groups Team based in our Northampton, MA office. This entry level role will focus on two central areas: helping to develop and implement customized group programs and assisting in university outreach strategy and implementation. This position requires an ambitious, organized individual who is willing to express their ideas with the goal of growing Kaya's programs. The successful candidate must be passionate about international travel and service and willing to adjust to constantly shifting priorities. This position is perfect for an individual who is looking to break into the field of international education and who has a strong desire to learn and grow with the Kaya Team. 

    SPECIFIC DUTIES:

    --Customized Group Program Coordination

    • Assist with managing administrative paperwork related to the development and delivering of group proposals
    • Liaise with Kaya in-country program partners and providers to help deliver proposals
    • Assist in responding to questions, requests and needs of university contacts and partners
    • Provide pre-departure materials and assistance for approved programs
    • Provide excellent customer service and support to approved programs, students and faculty

    --University Relations

    • Assist with marketing communications aimed at academic institutions (newsletters, social media posts, etc.)
    • Assist University Relations Team with travel arrangements and logistics
    • May be asked to represent Kaya at some study abroad fairs or university visits
    • Help identify academic departments or new universities interested in Kaya programs

    --General

    • Always work to promote responsible travel, service-learning, and community engagement
    • Collaborate and contribute to team activities, projects, and working environment, and support other team members when required
    • Other tasks and duties as required

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Ability to lift or maneuver up to 50 pounds
    • Ability to continuously stand or walk
    • Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift frequently

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    • International travel for work, pleasure, volunteering, or study abroad
    • Bachelor's degree (any field)
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite 
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to work with a team and independently
    • US driver's license

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    • Experience participating in a service-learning/volunteer program abroad
    • Travel experience in Africa, Asia, or Latin America
    • Experience with study abroad or faculty-led programming
    • Public speaking/presenting
    • A strong understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice
    • Experience engaging historically underrepresented students
    • Experience with Google Suite & Mac Suite
    • Strong desire to break into the field of international education
