Sales Assistant Kayu International, Inc. in Rathdrum, Idaho is looking to add a new member to join our Office and Sales team to assist in all things supporting our Hardwood wholesale distribution company. Kayu was founded in 1994 and is one of the world's largest serving Direct Importers of the finest Exotic Hardwood for the U.S. And Canadian Markets. Kayu's main focus has always been providing the best quality hardwoods for our customers. Kayu is looking for someone with a "can do" attitude who responds to business needs with the ability to adapt to and embrace change, placing emphasis on attention to detail and effective communication. Responsibilities: * Create a positive working environment by contributing to a fully functioning office setting through organization, communication and time management * Assist in maintaining company spreadsheets to ensure accurate up to date reporting * Complete daily office tasks * Answer inbound calls and direct to the appropriate team member. * Maintain files and records so they remain updated and easily accessible * Sort and distributing incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail * Answer and transfer telephone calls or take messages * Type, format, or edit routine memos or other reports * Copy, file, and update paper and electronic documents * Collect information and perform data entry * Prepare and process bills and other office documents * Undertake basic bookkeeping tasks and issue invoices, statements, etc. * Assist in office management and organization procedures * Performs other job-related duties as assigned Qualifications: * At least 2 years prior general office, clerical, sales or administrative experience preferred. * Knowledge of Logistics is a plus. * Ability to proficiently use computer software programs and related computer applications such as Excel, Adobe, Microsoft Office, Quickbooks and other industry specific technology tools used within our organization. Willingness to learn additional software applications. * The ability to learn all of the products and processes. * Experience with composing correspondence, editing, and proofreading documents. Strong verbal and written communication. * Must be detail oriented, able to multitask, prioritize, and be self-motivated. * The qualified candidate has strong follow-through abilities, is reliable, dependable, and enjoys seeing projects to completion. * Is a positive, energetic and enthusiastic team member with excellent customer service skills. * Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information. * Ability to be resourceful in learning new things. * Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills. Must be extremely adaptable and able to jump into new tasks quickly. Not be afraid of change, and trying new roles. * Be able to handle constructive criticism.
