    Ready to work with an industry leader in a booming market? We are an innovation company providing post-harvest equipment and solutions to the Cannabis and Hemp industry.

    We are growing and are looking to add a Business Development Manager role on the East Coast - North America. You will be a new business hunter encompassing both traditional and non-traditional channels. You will focus on identifying business opportunities, building and maintaining successful relationships with prospects and existing clients, collaborating with executives on business strategy to determine objectives, evaluating current business performance and maximizing business reach and potential. The BDM will assist the sales team in providing additional customer value through consultative assessment of pre and post-harvest processes, and in turn, identify new avenues of opportunity for the company.

    Significant travel will be required.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    • Drive thought-leadership through both industry and technical knowledge at large scale customers, events and forums, via a consultative approach to selling.
    • Develop and maintain a strong forward-looking pipeline to meet company financial goals for assigned geography; targeted customers are large/extra large scale Commercial accounts.
    • Use technical knowledge of our engineering and innovative design capabilities to provide leading-edge solutions to our customers.
    • Demonstrate a Solution Leadership approach that recognizes you as an authority in pre and post-harvest solutions.
    • Demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge of all products.
    • Develop and deliver full system proposals to match customer system requirements and presents full ROI with the ability to answer technical and application-related questions.
    • Create long-term value through the identification and expansion of large Commercial sales opportunities (customer/markets/partnerships).
    • Manage key customer relationships and lead in closing strategic opportunities at Commercial accounts.
    • Strong cross-functional work (sales, marketing, customer success, engineering, finance) to ensure the company’s goals are achieved.
    • Establish industry contacts (commercial accounts, potential partners, consultants and industry influencers) appropriate for each level.
    • Monitor customer, market and competitor activities and provide feedback to the leadership team and other company functions to ensure alignment with other activities, including Product Innovation.
    • Provide detailed input for a 12-month rolling Commercial sales forecast for assigned region.
    • Frequent North American travel to visit top Commercial accounts.
    • Attend relevant major Trade Shows, speaking engagements and industry events.
    • Collaborate frequently with Territory Managers and sales management to identify opportunities to target and drive follow through.

    WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

    • 10+ years in a senior sales role with a strong record of accomplishment across cross-functional departments.
    • 5 years of Business Development experience. Capital equipment sales experience is required.
    • Post-secondary education is required.
    • Formal technical education is a strong asset; proven technical experience is a must.
    • Curiosity. Ability to ask thought-provoking questions to uncover opportunities.
    • Experience delivering technical and financial justification presentations.
    • Broad understanding of end-to-end process flow.
    • Strong communication skills (oral, listening, written).
    • Ability to travel within assigned region >50% minimum, as required.
    • A high degree of integrity.
