    Job Title: Closer

    Department: Sales

    Reports to: General Sales Manager

    Position Description: The Closer is responsible for supporting a team of sales staff to achieve the established standards for performance including sales and service.

    The Closer Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of $16.00 an hour. The position may also pay commission compensation which is based on the value or amount of closed sales achieved from $0.00 (if no sales are made) without any upper limit other than sales performance. The position also may also pay a production bonus based on individual or team performance that may range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) to $500 monthly.

    **Duties & Responsibilities: **

    • Review goals and objectives for the department.
    • Promote communication and teamwork with all other departments.
    • Train, motivate, counsel and monitor the performance of sales employees on their team.
    • Direct and schedule the activities of sales employees on their team.
    • Communicate and enforce the dealership policies and procedures.
    • Guide sales staff in setting their objectives.
    • Identify those sales staff who require additional training or counseling if they are failing to meet their objectives.
    • Recommend for dismissal any salesperson failing to meet company standards.
    • Provide support to any sales staff to close deals.
    • Attend meetings and training as scheduled.
    • Understand and stay abreast of and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect the automobile sales industry.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Also directly supervises non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    **Education & Experience: **

    One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ****

    Language Skills:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations:

    Current, valid, State Driver's License. Motor Vehicle Report which is acceptable to insurance carrier for coverage to operate company-owned and/or customer-owned vehicles.
