    Borton-Lawson is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead and monitor design functions for various Facilities clients and projects in the Power, Manufacturing, and Government markets. The qualified candidate must be able to lead a project team through the conceptual, preliminary, final design, and construction phases of a project while building successful working relationships with clients and approval agencies. BL provides a collaborative and flexible work environment that promotes creativity and use of a variety of engineering technologies (GIS, Drones, 3-D design, BIM/CIM modelling, & Digital As-Builts).

    Projects could include planning project extents (limits, permits, constructability, estimated costs, etc) and/or multi discipline design (survey, environmental, civil, MEP/A/S engineering) leadership and 3rd party project coordination.

     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Development of the project plan including project scope of work and WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) for complex multi-discipline based projects.
    • Manage project execution including project scope, schedule, budget, and the project resources including external vendors, consultants, and contractors.
    • Monitor project progress and identify potential problems early in the project development
    • Effectively track and stabilize projects, implement solutions to obstacles, and ensure client goals are achieved.
    • Hold internal project meetings, provide guidance and direction for work progression, drive coordination between various disciplines, hold team members accountable. Attend client meetings and communicate concerns and changes with the client in order to ensure a positive relationship and growth opportunities.
    • Effectively track and stabilize projects, implement solutions to obstacles, and ensure client goals are achieved.

    • Prepare preliminary designs and budgetary estimates
    • Lead the development of plans, specifications, studies, estimates, material lists, and other deliverables.
    • Ensure team adherence to QA/QC program
    • Prepare technical reports and correspondence for project designs and studies.
    • Drive safety initiatives.
    • Responsible for operational efficiency including minimizing outstanding WIP and A/R by ensuring client milestones, budgets and expectations are met.
    • Assist in preparation and/or monitoring of complex schedules to ensure timely completion of the work.
    • Engages in business development efforts and prepares responses to Requests of Proposals.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering management, or relevant discipline.
    • 10+ years experience.
    • Professional Engineering License or a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
    • Proficiency with project management and financial analysis tools.
    • Strong writing, documentation, communication, and leadership skills.
