  • Responsibilities

    Duties:

    Clean, scrub and spray down kennels

    Squeegee floors

    Cleans and maintains the food preparation room

    Wash dishes

    Wash, dry and fold laundry

    Run thrus every 20 minutes

    Change buckets in outside runs

    Feed and water animals

    Identifies animals with potential health problems

    Loads/unloads food, newspapers and other supplies

    Assists with pick up newspapers and other trash around the shelter grounds

    Refers questions about non-routine circumstances to Shelter Manager

    Maintains a good working relationship with volunteers at the shelter

    Other duties as assigned by Shelter Manager and/or Executive Director

    etc

    Physical: This position involves standing and walking for extensive periods of time, along with bending, reaching, holding and lifting (some animals weighing in excess of 50 lbs.). The incumbent will be exposed to various cleaning chemicals and animal medications and waste, and is expected to be familiar with and follow OSHA rules in their handling and administration. The incumbent is exposed to continual contact with cats, dogs and other animals.
