    We are a family-owned, homey ranch in the Bay Area boarding 55+ dogs and cats year-round. Just 10 minutes from downtown Sonoma and nestled among Sonoma’s vineyards, we’ve welcomed pets since the early 1970s and have been proudly owned by the Byerley family since 1998..

    Kennel Assistant (Part-Time) Start Date: April 2026 Pay: $18–$20/hour (DOE): Tips on top of hourly rate Schedule: 15-20 hours/week - 10 hour shifts (7:30AM - 6:30PM) with the potential of picking up additional shifts. Availability: Required during all major/minor holidays except Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day.

    What You’ll Do Support kennel managers with daily operations, including:

    Cleaning & disinfecting kennels, runs, and common areas

    Washing dishes, laundry, and light groundskeeping

    Feeding, watering, and basic animal care under supervision

    Bathing, nail trims, and light grooming

    Physical Demands

    Mostly indoor kennel work; some outdoor tasks on uneven terrain in all weather

    Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, walking, and standing for 8–10 hours

    Occasional lifting up to 35 lbs

    Who You Are

    Detail-oriented, punctual, enthusiastic, and reliable

    Comfortable and confident around dogs and cats

    Strong verbal communication and time-management skills

    Capable of working independently and following protocols

    Dependable transportation and flexible holiday scheduling
