Job Description
Law firm seeks a Conflicts Clerk with 6 months to 1 year of experience. This position is currently remote for the foreseeable future. Responsibilities include entering and recording data into Excel spreadsheets to track conflict check reports and legal documents; daily scanning and filing of engagement letters, conflict check reports, waiver letters, opinion letters, transfer letters, officer's back-up certificates, stock certificates and new hire forms. Conflicts Clerk will send legal documents to attorneys for review and signature; update corporate hierarchies or "family trees" in the conflicts database and billing database; conduct proactive research of mergers, acquisitions and potential bankruptcies and record findings in database. Selected candidate will research and process requests including close, reopen, client, matter, and mailing and contact change requests. The hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with overtime availability required.
