Kent Island Resort | A VIVÂMEE Property
Kent Island Resort is seeking a skilled, hands-on Hotel Maintenance Engineer to support the daily operation, safety, and appearance of our historic waterfront property.
This role is essential to ensuring a seamless guest experience by maintaining all resort facilities, guest rooms, event spaces, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work while contributing to a team culture rooted in Joy, Humility, and Ministry.
What You’ll Do
Facility & Preventative Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
- Identify, troubleshoot, and repair maintenance issues in a timely manner
- Execute work orders and track completion to ensure operational efficiency
Repairs & Operations Support
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and team members
- Repair equipment, fixtures, appliances, and building systems as needed
- Assist in setup and breakdown for events, weddings, and programming
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and workspaces are properly maintained
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
- Support fire, life safety, and emergency systems maintenance
- Maintain safe working conditions and report any hazards immediately
- Participate in safety training and drills
Grounds & Property Care
- Assist in maintaining exterior areas, including landscaping, walkways, and waterfront areas
- Monitor overall property condition and proactively address maintenance needs
- Support seasonal projects such as weatherproofing, facility upgrades, and equipment servicing
Team & Culture
- Collaborate with leadership and other departments to support resort operations
- Deliver service with professionalism and a guest-first mindset
- Embody and promote VIVÂMEE’s culture and values in daily work
What You Bring
- 2–5+ years of maintenance experience in hospitality, facilities, or a related field
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Basic computer skills for work order systems (preferred)
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
