This role focuses on keeping our customers' anesthesia systems running safely and reliably across research labs, universities, and veterinary clinics. Much of your time will be spent traveling to customer sites, diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance on specialized equipment. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working independently in the field, and delivering dependable service wherever the job takes them. On any given day, week, or month, you will:

    Field Service & Travel

    • Travel to universities, research labs, and veterinary clinics to service anesthesia systems and related equipment.
    • Plan efficient travel routes and service schedules across assigned territories and support field service needs as assigned.

    Service & Repair

    • Diagnose, repair, and maintain anesthesia systems, vaporizers, flow control components, scavenging systems, and related assemblies.
    • Perform mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical troubleshooting to identify root causes of system failures.
    • Conduct preventative maintenance, calibration, functional verification, and system testing to ensure equipment meets performance specifications.
    • Complete system refurbishments, rebuilds, and part replacements as needed.

    Preventive Maintenance & Quality Checks

    • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), inspections, and calibrations.
    • Verify system performance including flow accuracy, leak testing, pressure testing, and safety checks to ensure all serviced systems meet safety and quality standards.

    Customer & Technical Support

    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting guidance to internal teams and customers regarding proper system use, maintenance, and operation.
    • Communicate service findings, recommended repairs, replacement parts, and turnaround expectations while identifying potential service opportunities and sharing insights with internal teams.

    Documentation & Inventory

    • Maintain accurate service records including service reports, work orders, parts used, and test results in accordance with internal documentation procedures.
    • Maintain service inventory, prepare tools and parts for upcoming service calls, and assist with tracking spare parts and re-order needs.

    Safety & Workplace Standards

    • Follow all safety procedures related to compressed gases, anesthetic agents, and mechanical equipment.
    • Maintain a clean and organized service environment consistent with safety, quality, and 5S/lean practices.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Provide feedback to engineering and internal teams on recurring equipment issues and service improvements.
    • Assist with updating service procedures, checklists, and troubleshooting guides.

We are excited about you because you…

    • Have at least 2 years of experience servicing mechanical or electromechanical equipment.
    • Enjoy troubleshooting technical systems and solving hands-on problems.
    • Bring strong mechanical aptitude and curiosity about how equipment works.
    • Are comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule in a field based role.
    • Are able to read and follow technical instructions, service procedures, and diagrams.
    • Are comfortable learning digital tools such as service tracking platforms or CRM systems.
    • Have a valid driver's license and are comfortable traveling frequently for work.
    • Are able to lift and move equipment up to 50lbs as needed during service visits.
    • Approach problems calmly and maintain a solutions focused mindset.

    Bonus points for…

    • Experience servicing anesthesia machines, vaporizers, or gas delivery systems.
    • A background as a veterinary technician or experience working in a preclinical research lab environment.
    • Hands on service experience with medical devices, laboratory instrumentation, or similar technical equipment.
