Traveling Science Presenter – Part Time
Job Description
As a Science Content Performer/Actor, you will engage participants of all ages in educational and entertaining science performances and other programming throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana. You will be trained by our Visitor Experience team to deliver science curriculum and facilitate activities at schools and organizations throughout Kentuckiana. You will act as a representative of Kentucky Science Center (KSC), working directly with school/organization staff and local volunteers to ensure that program participants have an engaging and educational experience.
In this role you will primarily focus on performing in our traveling Assembly Programs, Captain Current vs. the Electricity Vampires and Ion Jones and the Lost Castle of Chemistry. Your role includes memorization of assembly show scripts, live performances of assemblies, maintenance and coordination of supplies, logistics, volunteer training, customer service, and set-up and clean-up of programs. You may also facilitate science programming on location at Kentucky Science Center if interested, and complete other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager of Education.
