Job Overview:
The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, adjusting, repairing, maintaining, and operating related packaging and processing equipment supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. Technicians will monitor and make adjustments to manufacturing equipment to improve production throughput, equipment efficiency, and implementation of corrective actions and spare parts management. The Maintenance Technician I is responsible to troubleshoot highly complex and automated packaging and processing equipment to minimize downtime. They will utilize control systems and appropriate instrumentation to ensure system effectiveness and calibration. Performs routine cleaning, housekeeping and non-routine maintenance with adherence to all safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures. Participates in 5S activities for maintenance shop areas as assigned.
The Maintenance Technician I will assist in the development of detailed job task lists for preventative maintenance work and planned work orders. Assists reliability engineering in performing risk-based analysis on equipment and identifying opportunities for improvement.
The Maintenance Technician I will assist in performing the final checks and the double checks for manufacturing equipment as indicated in the preventative maintenance procedure and standard operating procedure.Will execute the maintenance team strategy and support the maintenance team to ensure spare parts inventory is correct and compliant.Will be required to accurately complete paperwork and electronic transactions for all documentation requirements including but not limited to SAP transactions, and paper and electronic logbooks.
The Maintenance Technician I will assist with equipment installation, setup-up and start-up projects. Is responsible to perform and document equipment repairs as per standard operating procedure directives. Will perform startup and shutdown of equipment as per procedures to ensure proper operation.
Qualifications:
•A High school diploma or GED equivalent.
•Certification in Instrumentation or Electro-mechanical from a Technical School or Associates degree.
•Minimum of two (2) years experience in a regulated and automated manufacturing environment or military training in a technical discipline
•Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
•Proven ability to interact with other operators, management, and groups inside and outside of Manufacturing
•Candidates must be able to meet the physical demands that this position requires:continuous lifting and/or moving from 5 to 25 lbs. weight material, and frequent lifting or moving from 25 to 50 lbs. weight material.
•This position will initially be on 2nd shift, but candidates must be willing to work any shift, and may be assigned an off-shift in the future. Availability to work overtime is required.
Desired Qualifications
•Experience in a Pharmaceutical/GMP manufacturing environment
•Direct work experience in a Maintenance role that required repair of production equipment
•Experience working with electrical panels, schematics, wiring diagrams, and/or hydraulic power supply
