We are looking for a Systems Engineer to help build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our rapidly expanding infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
• Software testing and debugging.
• Program documentation
• Troubleshoot and identify systems problems and suggest alternative solutions.
• Support the daily, weekly and monthly production processes of the SSIS and JD Edwards system, and help identify and correct any issues that arise.
• Work with Business Analysts and others to design and develop system solutions
• Adhere to all HarperCollins policies and procedures for system change and development, including documentation and promote procedures.
• Keep management informed of progress on all key projects.
• Align business requirements to functionality in the core system.
• Position reports into the organization of the Director of ERP Development.
• Training to assist with the transition to JD Edwards toolset development will be provided.
• Hands on training will form part of the JD Edwards knowledge transfer working in a collaborative team with experienced JD Edwards developers.

Skills

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• Five years’ experience programming in SSIS and Visual Development tools
• Experience of working with Business processes, like order to cash and procurement and financials
• C++ programming experience would be an advantage.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL database tools.
• Experience of business processes and business database concepts, for example customer master, inventory, warehousing, sales etc.
