  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking a talented and versatile Keyboardist to join our dynamic musical department here at Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional technical skill, a deep understanding of music theory, and proficiency across various keyboard instruments and musical genres. This role requires a high level of professionalism, collaborative spirit, and a commitment to musical excellence in a Christian environment performing with Choirs during our 8:30 and 11:00 am services and other special services or scheduled events.

    Performance: Perform with our musicians at rehearsals, live concerts, and during visits to surrounding churches in support of their services or special events. This includes performing complex arrangements and improvisational solos on piano, synthesizer, organ, and other relevant keyboard instruments.

    Arrangement and Composition: Contribute to the creative process by assisting with the arrangement of existing material and, when required, assist with composing original keyboard parts.

    Equipment Management: Maintain and troubleshoot the Church property keyboard gear and associated electronic equipment, ensuring optimal functionalities for all rehearsals and performances.

    Collaboration: Work closely and under the direction of the Musical Director, band members, and other associated staff to ensure cohesive and high-quality musical output. Be receptive to feedback and capable of adapting quickly to changes in arrangements or setlists.

    Rehearsal Attendance: Punctually attend all scheduled rehearsals, arriving prepared to contribute effectively. Rehearsals will take place weekly on Thursdays at 5:30 pm for band members, followed by Choir rehearsal at 6:30 pm with designated choirs that are scheduled to sing the upcoming Sunday services.

    Professional Conduct: Maintain a positive, professional attitude at all times while representing Lewis Chapel Church and our Music Department, to the public.
