COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND RECRUITMENT ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR
Keystone Clinical Studies (KCS) is an independent clinical trial site focused on drug development for neuropsychiatric disorders. KCS is highly regarded in the field for our data quality and excellent patient care. In the last 20 years, KCS has participated in over 150 FDA supervised clinical trials that led to the approval of medications for 10 different conditions.
The Community Outreach and Recruitment Engagement (CORE) Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for all recruitment efforts at KCS, working under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and Site Manager.
This position involves a wide range of activities related to outreach, recruitment, and retention on behalf of KCS. One of the primary goals of KCS is to educate the community about the differences between normal aging and memory disorders such as Alzheimer’s Disease and Parkinson’s Dementia. There will be a special emphasis on diversity and inclusiveness, and connecting with minority populations.
THE POSITION INVOLVES THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead community events that maintain and expand general visibility for KCS for both current and new community partners
- Lead the recruitment of diverse research participants for KCS studies through the planning and execution of new outreach and educational programs with the goal of developing and maintaining new community partnerships
- Develop and present educational talks to community partners about brain health, memory and aging, and Alzheimer’s Disease either in person or virtual recruitment opportunities along with the Principal Investigator
- Lead the design and implementation of outreach activities, including the maintenance of all KCS social media accounts
- Develop and implement specific recruitment plan for each study in collaboration with Principal Investigator and Site Manager
- Engage new referrals and complete eligibility screening with potential participants to determine if they meet enrollment criteria and assist in scheduling potential participants
- Develop and implement plan for patient retention (i.e. newsletters, targeted mailings)
- Manage all recruitment and marketing material, including Sponsor and IRB (Institutional Review Board / Ethics Committee) approvals
- Manage patient database to ensure upkeep of correspondence with patients are maintained in a timely manner
- Track and report enrollment progress for all active studies to Principal Investigator and Site Manager monthly
- Manage advertising budgets, place advertisements and track responses (call backs, screening and randomization) in order to maximize effectiveness
- The CORE Coordinator will at all times adhere to the requirements of OHRP guidelines and the special nature of communications about research and study protocols, as well as KCS and Sponsor confidentiality
The recruitment and retention efforts of the CORE Coordinator will work within the framework of current studies and priorities at KCS. These responsibilities involve travel in the Greater Philadelphia area. A flexible daily schedule will sometimes be necessary, based on staff availability, and the time and location of community outreach events. All relevant training related to the conduct of clinical trials will be provided.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing and communications or equivalent
- Experience with managing social media
- Previous experience coordinating community outreach preferred
- Experience creating/maintaining marketing materials
- Experience presenting to an audience/public speaking
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills are needed
- Ability to work in a small team environment working collaboratively
- Full COVID vaccination and booster is required
