    Job Summary

    Kid Stock Assistant Teaching Artists develop and/or teach dance, drama, and/or singing workshops for their assigned cohort of campers. Under the direction of the Teaching Artist, assistants plan and implement skills- and performance-based lessons on subjects including but not limited to voice, dance, acting and performance technique; music and dance theory; choreography; improvisation; and music, dance, and theater history.

    This is a seasonal part time position.

    General Accountabilities

    ● Directs singing, dancing and/or acting elements of a small (15-30) children's musical theater productions as assigned by the Site Director, and as directed by the Lead Teaching Artist. ● Participates in casting discussion in collaboration with Lead Teaching Artist in keeping with the company policy that every student receives a part and all parts are equally valuable. ● Teaches/directs songs, dances, and/or scenes, balancing group and individual learning as directed by the Lead Teaching Artist ● Adjusts quickly to sudden changes in schedule, workshop climate, and/or production realities (eg. workshop attentiveness, camper absences, etc.) ● Observes, and helps execute all requirements of Kid Stock’s Health & Safety Plan ● Teaches with age-appropriate classroom management techniques and disciplinary practices. Meets with Teaching Artist frequently, no less than once per day to give status reports on their pod’s progress, successes, staff concerns, schedule adjustments, needs etc. *The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time

    Job Qualifications ● Education: 2 years education, training or equal experience in performing arts technique or instruction ● Education: 1 years education, training or equal experience working with children between the ages of 3-13 years ● Experience: 1 years experience working collaboratively with co-workers or a production team ● Experience: 2 years training or experience in secondary field such as music composition, stage crew, etc. (preferred, but not required) ● Driver’s License and transportation preferred
