THE ROLE:
The Accounting Assistant role is a dynamic position supporting the Accounting and Administrative functions of the KidStrong DFLEX organization (DFLEX stands for all of our corporate-owned centers located in Dallas-Fort Worth / Lexington, KY). This role will manage general accounting, payroll, cost accounting, and administrative people support for weekly, monthly, and annual processes. The Accounting Assistant is a full-time position and would be responsible for oversight and support of all centers in this growing organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage monthly and month-end accounting including, but not limited to: transfers, categorizing transactions, P&L, credit card management and reconciliation, and monitoring and correcting and issues.
Manage full payroll scope and payments including reviewing, input, analysis, and processing payroll biweekly, without error.
Weekly processing of transactions, reviewing spend, responding to questions, and monitoring chargebacks.
Process year-end accounting needs including, but not limited too: w2s, P&L management, distributions, 1099s, tax returns.
Manage credit cards and credit card policy/practices.
Manage employee access and use of ADP.
Process sales tax returns.
Accounting liaison for KidStrong DFLEX and KidStrong, Inc.
Revamp payroll process to automate (time clock with geo-fence, HC payroll approval process, and approval from leadership).
Manage and process benefits payments and PTO tracking process
Analyze receipts and and track spending - pull categories and compile reporting on monthly spend.
Collect/gather operating agreements/documents in drive for all of the locations.
Establish presence in DFLEX meetings.
Support DFLEX leadership with hiring as necessary.
Manage administrative function of onboarding in support of DFLEX leadership hiring decisions including, but not limited to: processing new hire paperwork and maintaining accurate records.
Maintain a formal termination process to support DFLEX leadership including, but not limited to: terminating access, processing cancellation of benefits, and supporting as necessary in exit interviews.
Establish a better process for pay rate changes/staff changes. Capture all docs in careerplug - offer letter, reviews/pay rate changes, etc.
Special Projects as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
Experience with QuickBooks Online is required
Prior experience ADP, Homebase and Google products is desired
Ability to manage multiple entities and keep track of revenue and expenses and how they interact
Flexibility to manage changing priorities in a fast paced environment
Understanding of the “big picture” and being able to anticipate future needs before they arise
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:
This position is a critical cross-functional leader that must drive action without “direct reports” in collaboration with DFLEX leadership and in partnership with KidStrong, Inc. HQ.
