Substitute teachers perform the job duties of regularly scheduled personnel who are absent from the academy due to vacation, illness or personal time off. These duties include supervising children, executing lesson plans provided by the teacher and maintaining all safety and educational standards. He/She assists regularly scheduled staff with classroom and outdoor activities, supervision of children, and meal times as requested.Substitute teaching personnel will be required to meet all legal and DHEC related requirements for employments including criminal background checks and medical assessments prior to employment. Well-qualified applicants will be provided with financial assistance to obtain required medical assessments.Substitute teachers will be required to participate in Kiddie Academy training so as to be well-prepared for any assignments that they choose to take. This training time will be paid at $13.00/hourOnce training is complete, substitute teachers can expect to receive a call to serve 1 to 3 days per week (more often during peak vacation times). Long-Term Substitute rolls will be available in the Fall of 2023.Substitute Teaching Assignments scheduled more than 24 hours in advance will pay at a rate of $13/hourSubstitute Teaching Assignments scheduled less than 24 hours in advance will pay at a rate of $15/hour
