KIDSPARK JOB DESCRIPTION: TEACHER’S AIDE

OBJECTIVES

To conscientiously assist in implementing KidsPark’s program and supervise the children in our care.

· Make KidsPark a safe, warm, fun and enriching setting for 2–12-year-olds.

· Provide professional and quality childcare.

· Make KidsPark the leading provider for drop-in care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Child and Program Skills –under the guidance of the Director, Corporate Management or Shift Leads, assist in providing the necessary services required to maintain the integrity of our activities in order to provide the highest possible level of childcare and customer service. This would include but not limited to:

· Assist in supervising and interacting with the children in order for their visit to be safe and fun

· Insure the children use the equipment and toys in a safe and prescribed manner.

· Redirect and guide children to developmentally and socially appropriate behaviors.

· Organize, lead and supervise children in activities that provide appropriate gross motor outlets.

· Learn how to lead circle time activities that may include single or mixed age groups.

· With support, prepare, adapt, and present art activities that are developmentally appropriate.

· Complete all assigned job duties effectively and creatively to support the assigned enrichment areas.

Professional Skills- support our staff and adhere to our policies, in order to contribute to the best possible work environment for everyone. Present and maintain a professional image, which will elicit confidence in the quality of care that we provide. This would include but not limited to:

· Present a professional image whenever representing or on the premises of KidsPark

· Be prepared and ready to work according to your scheduled times.

· Using the center’s phone list, arrange for a substitute when ill or need time off.

· Help with daily housekeeping and maintenance of the facility.

· Complete any required tasks fully and within the allotted period of time.

· Ensure work environment safety in the center at all times

· Communicate to the Director any impairment that may affect the quality of our center or program.

· Demonstrate initiative, good judgment, dependability and flexibility.

REQUIREMENTS

Per the State of Tennessee Department of Human Services Licensing Regulations, a HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA is required for all staff. Additionally, staff are required to complete three hours of Department-recognized training on basic health and safety topics as well as Adverse Childhood Experiences Training every five years.

Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification is required.

In addition, we seek people who have demonstrated:

· Being receptive to training and coaching.

· Positive interactions with others and good verbal skills with children and adults.

· Ability to lift 40 pounds.

· Good written communication skills.
