    YOUR ROLE:

    We are looking for a Medical Assistant with Women's Health experience. THIS POSITION REQUIRES IN PERSON WORK IN OUR LOS ANGELES CLINIC.

    In this role, you will be responsible for assisting nurses and physicians in all aspects of patient care for Kiira's clinic, including chaperoning patients, triaging patients, obtaining vital signs, performing OB Intakes and assessments per CPSP protocol, assisting with procedures including colposcopy, phlebotomy, preparing patients for exams, turning over rooms, and other tasks essential to the proper functioning of the clinic. Perform contraceptive, STD and options counseling. Maintain clinic stock, process instruments for sterilization. Process labs for testing. Provide patient care support services to include appointment scheduling, reception/check-in, pre-registration, payment collection, insurance verification, and general administrative duties in the clinic. Orders supplies and performs other front office duties as assigned to meet workload.

    WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

    • Medical Assistant diploma or certificate
    • Current CPR/BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • Skill in interacting with persons of various cultural, economic and educational backgrounds to obtain information and elicit medical histories, provide education and health care services, make appointments and explain admission/registration and cashiering policies and procedures
    • General knowledge of OB-GYN procedures and terminology
    • Knowledge of basic reproductive anatomy and physiology
    • Skill/certification in obtaining blood samples
    • Knowledge of standard precautions to protect self, patients and co-workers from infectious diseases
    • Skill in accurate measurement of vital signs, blood pressure, height and weight
    • General knowledge of medical diagnosis and terminology in order record medical histories and correctly interpret referrals Interpersonal skill sufficient to interact diplomatically with the public in a high volume public contact setting and with members of the health care team
    • Skill in employing independent decision-making techniques while performing various job duties
    • Skill in organizing material and information in a systematic manner to maximize efficiency and minimize duplicate effort
    • Skill in adapting to and implementing frequently changing clinic operational procedures.
    • General knowledge of third-party, government programs and other sponsoring agencies.
    • Ability to work effectively under a rotating work assignment system.
    • Ability to handle delicate issues with sensitivity, maturity and professionalism.
    • Ability to maintain composure and back-up co-workers in situations involving emergencies, heavy workload or during staffing situations such as sick leave and vacations.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient medical records and information.
    • Knowledge of personal computer to type documents, correspondence and clinic reports.
    • Skill in working as part of a team with physicians, nurses, and other clinic staff.
    • Skill in performing with frequent interruptions and /or distractions.
    • Skill in telephone business etiquette and a working knowledge of multi-line telephones
    • Knowledge of instruments commonly used in the OB/GYN clinic.
    • Skill in prioritizing workload, with minimal supervision to complete work in time designated for that particular clinic session.
    • Knowledge of clinic routines and protocols as related to clerical duties including patient check-in and payment collection.
    • Ability to utilize customer service skills in dealing with patients, families and coworkers.
